Jim Corbett National Park, named after the famous hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett, is one of India’s oldest and most renowned national parks. Located in the state of Uttarakhand, it was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and later renamed Jim Corbett National Park in his honor.

Renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, the landscape of the park is a mix of dense forests, grasslands, riverine belts, and hilly terrains. In the undulating terrain of Corbett National Park, Sal and Teak are two dominant species of trees. The park is home to a rich biodiversity, including over 580 species of resident and migratory birds, around 33 species of reptiles and 40 species of Mammals out of which Tiger, Elephant, Sloth Bear are largest mammals. Other mammals include palm Civet Cat, Yellow Throated Marten, Otters, Crocodile, Bats, Deer, Para or Hog Deer, Sambar, Kakar or Barking Deer, Leopards, Langurs, Wild boars, Gharials. In recent years Hyena and Wild Dog have been captured in trail cameras. This biodiversity makes this place a great ecosystem of Terai Forest.
