Dhikala safari zone is the most popular and demanded zone of Corbett national park amongst tourists. Dhangari gate is the entrance to the dhikala safari zone of Corbett national park. To visit Dhikala safari zone on jeep it is mandatory to stay inside the forest rest house in Dhikala zone. The only way to make a day visit in Dhikala safari zone is by canter safari, which is a 18 seater shared open bus. Dhikala zone is located along the Ramganga river and ramganga reservoir which is a major sourse of water for mammals at Corbett national park. It is also the reason that Dhikala offers breath taking landscapes and amazing wildlife variety to its visitors. The Bijrani safari zone is located at a suitable distance from ramnagar and most of the resorts at Corbett national park which makes it most convenient gate for visiting the national park. The safari zone has a rich population of tigers has provides a good percentage of sighting to its visitors. The entry gate to the Bijrani safari zone is known as amdanda gate. Bijrani safari zone consists of tourism, buffer and core areas. Visiting core areas is not allowed. Safaris can be done in morning and evening slots. Morning slots are booked in advance and there is a limit to number of vehicles entering at a time in Bijrani safari zone of Corbett national park. Jhirna Safari Zone
Jhirna is another safari zone located at a distance of 16kms from ramnagar. The safari system is similar to Bijrani safari zone and a permit is required to visit the zone. The jhirna zone of Corbett national park is known to host variety of animals. Sightings of black bear and leopard and recorded quite frequently in this part of Corbett national park. It is also the homw to royal Bengal tiger and variety of other species of mammals. The plantation in the zone is thick and offers great bit of thrill mixed with wildlife sightings. Loha Chaur Safari Zone
Loha chaur safari zone is located ahead of Dhikala tourist zone on the other side of ramganga river. The entry gate to this zone of Corbett national park is known as durga devi gate. The terrain of the zone is mostly hilly and offers unique wildlife sights to visitors of Corbett national park. To visit the loha chaur zone one needs to obtain the permits as for Bijrani and jhirna zone. It has ramganag and do monda river flowing through it which acts as life line for the mammals living in the zone. One can also expect to see varied species of birds in the thick sal plantation. Sitavani safari zone is not a part of Corbett national park but comes under the reserve forest. This zone id adjoining Corbett national park and has abundant wildlife to offer. It is also known as paradise for bird watchers. The zone also hosts good population of tigers, leopards and elephants. Lot of sizable pythons are also recorded in the area. Sitavani safari zone can be visited anytime within the presence of daylight.
