Shivalik ranges have captured the imagination of many with its diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. The package provides wonderful opportunity to spot unique and diverse wildlife, enjoy the amazingly beautiful landscapes and feel the thrill of staying inside forest at forest rest house having built over hundred years ago during British period. Covering the locations between the Himalayas and the terai, and the streams, rivers and ridges crisscrossing the terrain, it features remarkable variety of landscapes. This vivid mosaic of habitats – wet and dry, plain and mountainous, gentle and rugged, forests and grasslands – supports numerous plant and animal species, representing Himalayan as well as plains kinds. Wildlife attractions of the package are Bengal Tiger and the Asiatic Elephant, but with about 600 species of avifauna the package is one of the best for bird watching in India.
Day 1: Delhi
Arrive at Delhi. Check in at hotel.
Day 2: Delhi – Raja ji national park
After breakfast start for Raja ji national park – Chilla gate, 250 km, 5-6 hours drive by road. Check in at forest rest house, chilla .Overnight stay at forest rest house.
Raja ji national park – Spread over an area of 820 sq. km, the park with its magnificent ecosystem, is nestled in the shivalik ranges. It represents the flora of several zones of the forest, reverine, broad leaf mixed forest, pined forest, scrub land and grassy pasture lands. Wildlife attraction of the park is freely roaming herds of elephant and leopard. The park also is the home to few tigers. The majestic Ganges flows through the National Park for a distance of 24km, besides the innumerable streams and brooks making it rich and diverse. It offers ample opportunities to nature lovers to enjoy the captivating landscape and wildlife.
Day 3: Raja ji national park
Morning jeep safari. Breakfast and lunch at forest rest house. Evening jeep safari. Dinner and overnight stay at forest rest house.
Day 4: Raja ji national park – Halduparao (Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary)
After breakfast start for halduparoa (Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary) – North part of Corbett tiger reserve, 200 km, 5 hours drive by road. Check in at forest rest house at haldparao. Evening jeep safari.
Haldaparao – The FRH was built about a hundred years ago, is located between the Palain and Sonanadi rivers a short distance before they drain into the Ramganga reservoir. It lies under the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary – north part of Corbett tiger reserve and is known for its quiet, peaceful, riverine surroundings. Halduparao is a good place to watch wild elephants from close quarters.
Day 5: Halduparao (Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary)
Morning jeep safari. Breakfast and lunch at forest rest house. Evening jeep safari. Dinner and overnight stay at forest rest house.
Day 6: Halduparao (Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary) – Corbett national parkAfter breakfast start for Corbett national park Dhikala/Gairal, 80 km, 3 hours drive by road. Check in at forest rest house. Evening wildlife movie. Overnight at forest guest house.
Dhikala/Gairal is the most well known of the destinations in Corbett. It is located at the edge of the broad Patli Dun valley through which the life line of Corbett, river ramganga flows in numerous channels. Dhikala offers an awesome uninterrupted panoramic view of the valley. The Tourist Complex overlooks Dhikala chaur (one of the largest remaining grasslands of the Park) and Phulai chaur. A drive through the numerous trails through chaurs is rewarded with sightings of tigers, wild elephants, chital, hog deer, sambar deer and numerous grassland bird species and raptors. The Old FRH at Dhikala is a historic structure, having been built over a hundred years ago.
Day 7: Corbett national park (Dhikala/Gairal)
Morning jungle safari, back to rest house, breakfast at campus .After breakfast some rest, if you are interested to watch the activities of jungle from watch tower, vehicle drop to watch tower and pick up, lunch, evening jeep safari/elephant safari .After safari evening tea and wild life movie show, dinner .Overnight stay in Rest house.
Day 8: Corbett national park
Full day park safari into different parts of park. Evening come out of the Corbett national park. Check in and stay at jungle resort.
Day 9: Corbett national park (Bijrani /Jhirna) - Delhi
Morning jeep safari in bijrani/jirna tourist zone. Back to resort. After breakfast drive to Delhi.
